A recent press release states, “Rubrik, the Cloud Data Management Company, today announced that Digital River has reduced storage costs, automated NoSQL backup and recovery, and improved data protection with Rubrik Datos IO software. The global ecommerce technology provider is using Rubrik Datos IO to protect more than 60 NoSQL databases and tables across five different Cassandra database clusters. Digital River provides ecommerce technology and services that help some of the largest brands sell their products direct-to-consumers online.”

The release continues, “Prior to Rubrik, the process of building and managing backups of Apache Cassandra keyspaces with different SLAs per application was a time-consuming and cumbersome process for the Digital River team. With Rubrik Datos IO, Digital River was able to deploy a fully automated backup and recovery solution for multiple Apache Cassandra databases that achieved protection from logical data corruption in a highly efficient and cost-effective way. It also enabled an application-centric approach to backup and recovery to address the need for granular database and table-level control for operational ease of use. ‘More and more enterprises are migrating to modern non-relational databases like NoSQL to power mission-critical applications. As a result, they need a data management solution that is purpose-built for NoSQL databases to ensure that data is instantly available and protected,’ said Tarun Thakur, General Manager, Rubrik Datos IO. ‘Rubrik Datos IO has enabled Digital River to modernize its data protection operations while also achieving significant performance improvements and cost savings’.”
